Agreed - I had zero belief that selection would actually occur. Of course this week some selections were forced. Bilic has reacted in a very predictable way - he always does, honestly.

Ok stoat, Ayew in 4-4-2, but more a diamond in midfield

Randolf
Byram Kouyate Reid Cresswell
Antonio Obiang Lanzini Snodgrass
Carroll Ayew

Lets see them stop an attack from Antonio, Lanzini, Snodgrass, Carroll and Ayew

Alex I like the idea of out with the old and in with the new, we do need to give those guys a chance, but it will not happen

Apparently Bilic has been trying Mauaku at RB in training. Clearly Bilic really has a problem with Byram.

I don't think Byram is a PL RB but surely it has to be better to play the only specialist RB rather keep trying to shoe-horn in a makeshift alternative?

And if Byram and Arbeloa are not the answer to the problem why is it still a problem?

''Morgan and Huth will be praying Carroll starts''

Maybe, but whose to say that Carroll can't get the better of them, they have been poor this season.

I like collins but I still think Fonte is a better option as he can pass the ball and not just hoof it away. Bothh slow and old.

Byram Reid Fonte Cresswell

Kouyate Obiang

Morgan and Huth will be praying Carroll starts. I'd go

Randolph
Byram Fonte Reid Cresswell
Obiang Kouyate
Antonio Lanzini Snodgrass
Ayew

Good team that. With Carroll, Fernandes and Feghouli coming on if needed.

Re: Team v leicester
I hope that Kouyate, if he did get a midfield birth again, can somehow learn to pass the ball more accurately and close down / do much better on the defensive side of the game by tracking back etc.

The control and passing cannot be fixed but the work rate and covering can. He is often guilty of bombing forward and like others casually jogging back when the opposition counter attack. As a central midfielder and a modern midfielder he needs to be an all rounder.

Noble's reference to step overs do not apply but his eye catching, but often blind alley, runs disguise the fact that he has often been anonymous in games and even last season. But that's my opinion only. I think we need better and I do not think his inclusion will necessarily help but would be happy to be proved wrong :-)

Re: Team v leicester
Can't play Lanzini wide has no impact on the game.

According to Sky Noble may sit out this 1 due to a knock his been carrying
----------------Randolph
Byram---Fonte----Reid-----Cresswell
----------Obiang--------Kouyate
Antonio--------Lanzini------Snodgrass
.....................Ayew

Lets have a proper right back and a balanced back 4

2 proper engines in midfield

Antonio will help support Byram on the cover as his work rate is superb.

Ayew deserves a start Carroll still does not look fit returning from injury and pace will cause more of a problem to Huth and Morgan

How come no one is including Feghouli in their selections? After all he must be bloody good for our manager to keep selecting him.
Just shows how Noble is right when he says the modern football fan doesn't understand the game. It's time we all shut the fuck up and allow these football geniuses to continue making the decisions and getting them 100% right.

Err, they do, don't they?

NOBLE OUT INJURED

Injury-wise, we will be without Mark Noble this weekend. Mark picked up a knock in training and passed a fitness test to play against Chelsea. He pushed himself 100 per cent in that game, and then after a few days of recovery and improvement, he played again at Bournemouth.

Unfortunately, he picked up another knock in the same area of his body in that game and that took him out. He will also miss Saturday’s game against Leicester City too and a week of rest and rehab will help to prepare him for the three-game week coming up against Hull, Arsenal and Swansea.
